My Essential Tent Camping Equipment

Ah, the great outdoors! It’s a great way to experience the wonderful world we live in without the need for technology. But you cannot go camping without the proper equipment. So, here are several essentials that every tent camper must have.

First off and most importantly, you will need food. But make sure it’s food that can stand a wide range of temperatures and is portable. You should be able to pack a good amount for the duration of your trip. This excludes TV dinners or leftovers from a dinner party. It would be best to bring either hotdogs or hamburgers because they only require a fire and a small amount of your time. And they can be frozen, which brings me to my next essential.

Bring a cooler. You can store all of your frozen foods and cold sodas and waters. Just make sure to restore your ice every day so it stays cool.

Besides food, a tent is a must unless you have a cabin. There is a wide range of tents to choose from that range from different sizes and styles. But, durability is the most important aspect. In the unfortunate event of a thunderstorm, the tent should not leak and be able to sustain high winds on its own. Also, it should house you, any other campers, and your sleeping bags.

But what about tools? Yes, you might not be in the Rocky Mountains completely isolated but that still doesn’t mean you can’t become prepared. A flashlight or lantern, for example. If you’re walking in the dark, these are essentials so you will not hurt yourself tripping over any rocks or accidentally falling down an embankment. Lanterns are best used to light up the campsite, while flashlights are better served to accommodate night walks as you can direct the light in the direction that you’re traveling.

Another great essential that can potentially come in handy is a first aid kit. It is common to accumulate cuts and scratches as you maneuver your way through the woods as it can have thorny bushes or even being stung or bitten by insects. These aren’t life threatening, but can become infected if left untreated. If you have a proper first aid kit, you should be able to continue enjoying your outdoor experience. The most common aid to put in a first aid kit are bandages. They’re inexpensive and easy to apply onto a cut or scrape. If you want to take an extra step of care, buy a trusted brand of ointment and lightly smear it onto the cut or scrape before applying the bandage. You should also include pain medicine if at any time you or other campers need this.

A Swiss Army Knife would be useful for many tasks such as fishing and cooking. In the event that you’re going fishing, a Swiss Army knife would be most appropriate because you are then able to sharp the ends of sticks to use as a spear to catch fish. It’s easier than pricking the end with your hands right? It can also be used to cut down any small tree branches or brush that is blocking your path while hiking.

With a little planning beforehand, you can guarantee that your camping experience will be satisfying with the proper essentials such as water, a tent, a flashlight and/or lantern, a first aid kit, and a knife. I hope I have helped with your camping.
